Chris discovered salsa in the late 1990s, at Bar Mambo's in Guildford. Learning both the New York and Cuban styles, he soon developed a passion for dancing and took every opportunity to master new moves. Chris also enjoys tango, ceroc and street jazz, as well as merengue and cha cha cha.
Teaching comes naturally to Chris, whose relaxed Cornish style has earned him a loyal following at the Sandhurst club. His musical preference is for modern salsa and R&B salsa.
Chris entered the Strictly Dance Fever contest with Karmel. The pair danced a demanding salsa routine and were selected among the final 60 out of 600 participants. They said it was a very worthwhile experience, and were encouraged to hear a positive comment from Wayne Sleep: "Nice neck drop."
Chris has an Enhanced Criminal Records Certificate from working at a number of schools in Farnham: Frensham Heights and Moor House School.
Also has Instructors Public Liability Policy.
